Campus Ministry Reflections
October is one of my favorite times of the year. The colors of the changing leaves are gorgeous. The not-quite-winter chill in the air is just cold enough for cozy sweaters and warm tea but not cold enough for winter coats. I am unashamed to admit my love for pumpkin spice lattes. Halloween is coming, and my apartment has pumpkins and bats everywhere. The Church also celebrates some stellar saints this month - St. Therese of Lisieux, Pope St. John Paul II, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Ignatius of Antioch. And the entire month is dedicated to the Rosary! For me, October feels a bit like an Advent before Advent, a renewal of my prayer before the time of preparation. Celebrating so many holy men and women, including Mary, the Mother of God, and doing it all while enjoying the beauty of fall - does it get much better than that? As L. M. Montgomery wrote in Anne of Green Gables, “I’m so glad I live in a world with Octobers.” -- Lauren
