Campus Ministry Reflections
Happy Homecoming Weekend! While Homecoming at St. Ambrose and at other universities throughout the country looks a lot different this year, it’s still a good time to reflect on what being “home” and returning “home” is all about.
I love when my adult children come home to visit. They look around the house to see what’s new and changed and what is the same as before. They request their favorite meal and we stay up late catching up on the changes in our lives. We talk about politics, finances, passions, concerns, love, and always memories of the past. Instead of me doing all the teaching, I often learn from their insights and experiences. It’s good to have the house buzzing with conversation and laughter!
We strive to make St. Ambrose a place where all feel welcome, safe, challenged and loved. But, of course the goal isn’t to stay here forever; but to go out and make the world a better place. And, then, come back to visit and remember and reconnect and see what’s new and what’s the same and what work still needs to be done.
My hope and prayer is that you will always feel at home here and together we can transform the world. - Tammy
