Campus Ministry Reflections For the past couple of Sundays, we have heard an invitation from Jesus: “Come, follow me.” This Sunday, we will hear the story of Jesus commanding an unclean spirit to leave the body of a man. This kicks off the theme of the healing ministry of Jesus that we will hear about for the next few weeks. When I think about Jesus healing people, I have a tendency to get frustrated and wonder, “Jesus, where are you now? Don’t you see how many people need healing?” Then I am reminded of his invitation from the previous weeks - “Follow me.” It’s important to remember that healing is a gift God wants to give us, but it may not come in the ways we see or expect. We certainly will not find the healing we long for in any of the pacifying things of our society (looking at you, alcohol and Tik Tok). True healing can only be found in relationship with Jesus. This does not mean, of course, that a sick person could be miraculously healed “if only they prayed harder.” The type of healing I’m talking about is deeper than physical ailment - it’s the mending of your relationship with God which, if you’re like me, is so often wounded by sin. Follow Christ, and seek true healing. -- Lauren
